Purpose
Tally Crate helps individuals and families organize moving containers, belongings, labels, photos, statuses and supporting records. It is not a moving company, insurance policy, valuation service, emergency service or substitute for professional advice.
Your information and backups
You retain ownership of information and photos you enter. You are responsible for their accuracy, for having permission to include or share them, and for maintaining appropriate backups. Because Version 1.0 is local-first, browser settings, storage limits, device loss or cleared site data can affect stored information.
Our software and brand
Tally Crate, its software, design, artwork, logo, written material and related intellectual property belong to their respective owner or licensors. You receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive and revocable right to use the product for its intended purpose. These terms do not transfer ownership of the product or brand.
QR codes and labels
Scanning depends on label condition, print quality, lighting, camera support and device behavior. Human-readable identifiers and manual entry are provided as recovery options, but no identification method is guaranteed under every physical condition. Verify a container before relying on a scan.
Damage and insurance records
Photos, timestamps, notes and reports may be useful as supporting documentation. They do not establish value, liability, ownership, coverage or entitlement to payment. Follow your mover’s, carrier’s and insurer’s documentation requirements.
Shared information
You are responsible for deciding who receives a snapshot link, report, label sheet or backup. Anyone with access to a shared file or link may be able to view its contents. Read-only sharing does not grant permission to edit your working inventory.
Free use and purchases
The web edition can be used free with up to 10 containers. Reaching that limit prevents adding another container but does not delete or lock away move data already stored on the device. Tally Crate may offer a $14.99 one-time lifetime unlock with no subscription or recurring fee. “Lifetime” means access to the purchased edition for as long as Tally Crate makes that edition available; it does not promise that every future product, platform, or separately priced service will be included. Checkout, receipts, taxes, refunds and payment disputes are also governed by the payment provider. A refunded, reversed, fraudulent or chargeback purchase may have its premium entitlement revoked.
Restoring a purchase
You are responsible for keeping access to the purchase email and license key used to restore premium access. Purchase restoration transfers the entitlement, not local inventory. Use Tally Crate backup and restore separately when moving inventory to another device.
Acceptable use
Do not use Tally Crate to break the law, infringe rights, invade privacy, distribute malicious material, probe security, disrupt hosting or misrepresent the product. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer the service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Updates and availability
We may update, improve, correct or discontinue parts of the software. Updates may change device or browser requirements. We aim to provide reasonable notice when a material change affects an existing workflow, but continuous availability is not guaranteed.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, Tally Crate is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device, scanning success or recovery of data that was not backed up. Nothing here excludes consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Tally Crate and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from a move, damaged or missing property, device failure, unavailable data or reliance on an incomplete record. Any direct liability will be limited to the amount paid for Tally Crate, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which the Tally Crate operator is established, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
